In nursing practice, accurate identification and application of research is essential to achieving successful outcomes. The ability to articulate research data and summarize relevant content supports the student’s ability to further develop and synthesize the assignments that constitute the components of the capstone project.

The assignment will be used to develop a written implementation plan.

For this assignment, provide a synopsis of the review of the research literature. Using the “Literature Evaluation Table,” determine the level and strength of the evidence for each of the eight research articles you have selected. The articles should be current (within the last 5 years) and closely relate to the PICOT question developed earlier in this course. The articles may include quantitative research, descriptive analyses, longitudinal studies, or meta-analysis articles. A systematic review may be used to provide background information for the purpose or problem identified in the proposed capstone project.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

The increased use of unlicensed assistive personnel presents both opportunities and challenges for the American health care system. The nurse manager has to deal with the challenge that unlicensed assistive personnel only be used to provide personal care needs or nursing tasks that do not require the skill and judgment of the RN.

1. The nurse manager reviews the national effort to define the scope of practice for unlicensed assistive personnel. In 2007, the American Nurses Association made recommendations for a national and/or state policy for nursing assistive personnel. 2. The need in health care today is for todays nurses to have highly developed delegation skills in working effectively and efficiently with unlicensed assistive personnel. This is critical to ensure the clients needs are met and their safety is not jeopardized. What are the key general principles that the nurse manager needs to review with professional registered nurses in delegating to unlicensed assistive personnel?

 You will be researching a Best Practice in an area of nursing you are interested in. You will describe the best practice and why you chose it. You will also need to summarize the findings of your articles that relate to your best practice. You will need to explain how this best practice is relevant to new nurses and lastly, what is the nurses role in evidence-based practice and research. You need to use a minimum of 2 recent (within the last 3 years), peer-reviewed, scholarly articles that you include with your submission. Your paper must be 3-5 pages and follow APA formatting. Assignment Description:

The student will critique the assigned journal article using a narrated power point presentation. Other forms of presentation styles are available but these are easier to upload through dropbox. If there is another presentation style you would like to use please make your request known for consideration.

This assignment addresses the formal analysis and critique of a journal article. Additional references must be used  to support your critique position. The presentation will be voice narrated with no more than 10 slides in length, excluding cover page, references, and appendix (if applicable). You may use screen-o-matic () to narrate PPT slide for easier upload through dropbox. If using prezi or another form of presentation style, submit your references on separate document. The presentation and references must be APA format 6th ed., using peer-reviewed journals of 5 years or less (minimum 6 references), unless there is a historical reference. Wikipedia or dictionary sites are unacceptable references. Peer-reviewed articles are located within professional organization periodicals such as American Nurse Association journal. They allow other peers to critique submitted articles. 

Other non-healthcare related professional journals or articles may be used. Include any conceptual models in the appendix.

Discuss the prevalence of each of these health problems in society today.
