Section 1: (1000 words)
Using the text and comprehension texts provided for Riley and Mia, you’re required to:

identify an area of need for each child’s reading development
select a teaching strategy that has been covered in the unit learning material and explain how that specific teaching strategy will support and extend each child’s area of need in reading development
propose an example of a specific lesson aligned to the teaching strategy that will support and extend the child’s reading development. This should include:
a description of the teaching methods required for the lesson
an explanation for how it will support the development of reading skills
an evaluation of how ICT can be incorporated into the lesson to enhance literacy teaching.

Oratorical Leaders and the Magic of Stereotypes

No one gets through life alone. To some extent, we are all products of our environments. We learn from our families, schools, and cultures. Every person has to face severe challenges and conquer obstacles. How we face our challenges depends on how we are shaped by others and our strength of character.
Certain individuals in our society have played powerful roles in the evolution of prevailing norms. While we learn our culture from agents of socialization, great leaders with lofty visions lead people and nations in the direction of emancipation, economic prosperity, and political freedom. Each of the following speeches tells the story of a struggle and its leader. Each speech echoes the aspirations of thousands of people as well as their desire to change their social situations.
The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate the power of stereotypes as a shorthand communication tool. With great economy of words, each speaker uses stereotypes to frame the audience into an in-group of which he or she is the leader and the out-group on the opposing side.

During this class, we examined a range of methods used in operations management to monitor, assess, and improve performance in health care organizations. In this final Assignment, you will review the Learning Resources made available throughout the class, and any additional external resources you may find. Then, you will synthesize your understanding of these resources, applying your knowledge to the Pediatric Hospital case study.

According to the case study, a kaizen event revealed that variability in operations performance and outcomes was the root cause of a bottleneck in scheduling MRIs. Three solutions were provided, including:

The Assignment:

Substance abuse assessments have very different purposes for different populations. For instance, an assessment for treatment of victims will look different from a court-mandated assessment relating to criminal behavior. These demographic factors significantly influence the assessment as it relates to treatment planning or other recommendations.
