Minimum of 250 words with at least 2 peer review reference in apa 6th edition style

History: A 35 year old nurse complained of nervousness, mood swings, weakness, and palpitations with exertion for the past 6 months. Recently, she noticed excessive sweating and wanted to sleep with fewer blankets than her husband. She used oral contraceptives and her menstrual periods were regular.

Physical examination: Pulse was 92/minute and BP was 130/60. She appeared anxious, with a smooth, warm, and moist skin, a fine tremor, a bounding cardiac apical impulse, and she couldn’t rise from a deep knee bend without aid. Her thyroid was diffusely enlarged, soft, mobile, without nodularity and there was no lymphadenopathy. Her eyes were not prominent (proptotic) and she had no focal skin thickening.

Laboratory studies: Serum T4=15.6 ug/dl and serum T3=210 ng/dl.

  1. What is the level of thyroid function in this patient? Are additional diagnostic tests necessary to define the level of thyroid function and if so which one(s)?
  2. What is the most likely cause of this patient’s illness? What tests are necessary to confirm its cause? Are antithyroid antibodies helpful?
  3. What are the treatment options?

Non-Maleficence In Nursing

Introduction:

Provide an overview of the authors research problem, research questions and main point including how the author supports his or her point.

Explain what the author initial  objectives (hypothesis) and results including the process he or she used to arrive at such conclusion.

Evaluate the Research Methods: in paragraph form answer the following:

Does the author provide a literature review?

Is the research current and relevant to today existing health issues?

Describe the research type utilized? experimental, non-experimental, quasi experimental, etc.

Evaluate the sample (size, composition, or in the way the sample was selected in relation to the purpose of the study? Was the sample appropriate for the research or was it bias?

How practical does this work seem to you? How does the author suggest research results could be applied and how do you believe they could be applied?

Could the study have been improved in your opinion? If so provide how you think it could have improved.

Is the writing in the article clear straightforward?

Healthcare Marketing And Strategy

Before beginning work on this discussion forum, please review the link , the expanded grading rubric for the forum, and any specific instructions for this topic.

Before the end of the week, begin commenting on at least two of your classmates responses. You can ask technical questions or respond generally to the overall experience. Be objective, clear, and concise. Always use constructive language, even in criticism, to work toward the goal of positive progress. Submit your responses in the Discussion Area.

Just as the state of the healthcare industry and the concept of the patient have changed so have healthcare facilities. Physicians offices arent always offices anymore. Healthcare facilities can be mobile, virtual or traditional. This week we will look at how healthcare facilities have evolved.

  • Besides concierge medicine and retail clinics, identify two other contemporary healthcare facilities identified in the literature.
  • Discuss how marketers could advertise the new facilities and the impact you think the new facilities will have on healthcare consumers and currently existing facilities in the market.

5-1 Journal: Healthcare Versus Sick Care

Reflect on what you consider healthcare to be. Briefly describe your definition of health based on your personal and/or professional experience. View Rebecca Onie’s TED Talk, What If Our Healthcare System Kept Us Healthy?, and address the following questions: Does your professional definition of healthcare change after watching this video? Why or why not? If traditional healthcare were to stray into the realm of socioeconomics as Rebecca Onies organization did, what effects on health delivery models would you anticipate? Explain. Use the journal as an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the final project requirements and case study. Journal activities in this course are private between you and your instructor. Only the instructor can view and comment on your assignments. Rubric Guidelines for Submission: Your journal assignment should be 2 to 4 paragraphs in length. Submit assignment as a Word document with double spacing, 12- point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins.

NRS-429VN0500 Family Centered Health Promotion.

Understanding family structure and style is essential to patient and family care. Conducting a family interview and needs assessment gathers information to identify strengths, as well as potential barriers to health. This information ultimately helps develop family-centered strategies for support and guidance.

This family health assessment is a two-part assignment. The information you gather in this initial assignment will be utilized for the second assignment in Topic 3.

Develop an interview questionnaire to be used in a family-focused functional assessment. The questionnaire must include three open-ended, family-focused questions to assess functional health patterns for each of the following:

  1. Values/Health Perception
  2. Nutrition
  3. Sleep/Rest
  4. Elimination
  5. Activity/Exercise
  6. Cognitive
  7. Sensory-Perception
  8. Self-Perception
  9. Role Relationship
  10. Sexuality
  11. Coping

Select a family, other than your own, and seek permission from the family to conduct an interview. Utilize the interview questions complied in your interview questionnaire to conduct a family-focused functional assessment. Document the responses as you conduct the interview.

Upon completion of the interview, write a 750-1,000-word paper. Analyze your assessment findings. Submit your questionnaire as an appendix with your assignment.

Include the following in your paper:

  1. Describe the family structure. Include individuals and any relevant attributes defining the family composition, race/ethnicity, social class, spirituality, and environment.
  2. Summarize the overall health behaviors of the family. Describe the current health of the family.
  3. Based on your findings, describe at least two of the functional health pattern strengths noted in the findings. Discuss three areas in which health problems or barriers to health were identified.
  4. Describe how family systems theory can be applied to solicit changes in family members that, in turn, initiate positive changes to the overall family functions over time.

Cite at least three peer-reviewed or scholarly sources to complete this assignment. Sources should be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Please refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.

Nursing Research

Based on your course reading assignments and your pending research problem, what type of study do you believe you are conducting, and please explain why?

Extra materials:

Descriptive research is a study designed to depict the participants in an accurate way. More simply put, descriptive analysis is all about describing people who take part in the survey.

There are three ways a researcher can go about doing a descriptive research project, and they are:

Observational, defined as a method of viewing and recording the participants

Case study, defined as an in-depth study of an individual or group of individuals

Survey, defined as a brief interview or discussion with an individual about a specific topic

Mixed methods research (Extracted from the article below) is the use of quantitative and qualitative methods in a single study or series of studies. It is a new methodology that is increasingly used by health researchers, especially within health services research. There is a growing literature on the theory, design, and critical appraisal of mixed methods research. However, few papers summarize this methodological approach for health practitioners who wish to conduct or critically engage with mixed methods studies.

Meta-Analysis

Metaanalysis is a statistical technique for combining data from multiple studies on a particular topic. A Meta-analysis is an analytical tool for estimating the mean and variance of underlying population effects from a collection of empirical studies addressing ostensibly the same research question. Metaanalysis has become an increasingly popular and valuable tool in psychological research, and significant review articles typically employ these methods.

Epidemiology

According to the Centers for Disease Control, Epidemiology is the method used to find the causes of health outcomes and diseases in populations. In epidemiology, the patient is the community and individuals are viewed collectively. By definition, epidemiology is the study (scientific, systematic, and data-driven) of the distribution (frequency, pattern) and determinants (causes, risk factors) of health-related states and events (not just diseases) in specified populations (neighborhood, school, city, state, country, global).

Longitudinal Studies

Longitudinal Study, an epidemiologic study that follows a population forward over time, evaluating the effects of one or more variables on a process. If individuals are followed, it is termed a longitudinal cohort study. If classese.g., age classesare studied, it is a longitudinal cross-sectional study. Longitudinal studies are the converse (opposite) of horizontal (parallel) studies.
