Intercultural Communication in the Workplace

Students interview someone who is heavily involved in a multicultural organization. Using information collected during the interview, concepts from course resources, and observations, students describe how an organizations knowledge of intercultural communication influences its decision making, including strategies to maximize profitability and address the needs of a culturally-diverse workforce. Students explain how globalization has created a culturally-diverse workforce, discuss the challenges of a culturally diverse workplace, and outline how an organization might deliver concise, logical, and consistent communications to its culturally-diverse workforce.
