Assignment Description

As the manager of the CTU Health Care information systems department, you realize the need for seamless integration among all operating systems of the departments within the health care organization (HCO). Discuss the importance electronic health record (EHR) conceptual framework integration and achieving interoperability.

Prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the stakeholders of the different departments that expresses the importance of the interoperability of all computing systems within the health care organization. In this presentation, you should address the ramifications of the lack of integration of the information systems among the departments.

Data Analysts

Make sure you’ve read and understand these pages:

Project Instructions:

This project is focused on wrangling and analyzing data using pivot tables and complex formulas.

This project uses data that was scraped from IMDB websites. The original data set was downloaded early 2017 from: .

Download the dataset for this project here: review the documentiew in a new window and load the file into Excel to get started. Remember, the submission must be in .xlsx format (Excel).

 Part A Wrangle:

1. Scroll to “Movie_IMDB_Link” Column in the dataset. That column contains a URL string that we want to extract a specific variable from. Specifically we want to extract a specific range of characters (letters and numbers) that looks like “tt0499549” from every URL string. This is going to be a unique identifier for the table (primary key).
Each row can then be identified by this field.

Create a formula learned in class to extract the primary key from the “Movie_IMDB_Link” column into a new column (call that new column Primary Key and make it the first column dataset). Leave the “Movie_IMDB_Link” column untouched. Create a named range for the new column called “PrimaryKey”. Make sure you leave the formula that you created intact so that I can see your process.
10pts

2. Format the table as a table. Create named ranges for these columns: Director, Country, Gross (Gross Revenue), Budget and Title Year.
5pts

3. Copy and paste the new primary key column and the genres column into a new worksheet (call it the genre worksheet). Use an Excel feature to give each genre it’s own column: label the columns Genre1, Genre2, etc. Create a function that counts the number of movies that are described with at least 3 genres.
5pts

So if you have a single cell that has “Action, Comedy, Romance” it should now be:

Action | Comedy | Romance

Where | represents a new column.

4. Modify the movie_title column and remove the unique character that exists in the cell values.
5pts

5. Format the budget column in U.S. Dollars. Create a conditional formatting on the budget column. Use the best conditional formatting that shows the differences between the amounts in each cell.
5pts.
5a. Scroll through the dataset, what do you notice? Is formatting the column as dollars an appropriate choice, why or why not? Explain.
5pts

Part B Analysis:

Q. Which countries produced the most number of movies?
6. Create another worksheet called “Countries”. Copy and paste a distinct listing of countries from the raw data. Use a formula learned in class to count the total number of movies made by the particular country, make sure to use the appropriate named range in your equation. Create another column called “Ranking by Count” and use a function learned in class to rank the countries by their respective count. Which Countries were in the top 5 based on quantity of movies produced?
10pts

Note: Do not use pivot tables.

Q. Which countries had the largest gross revenue and biggest movie budgets?
7. In the same Countries worksheet, use another formula learned in class to bring in the Total Gross Revenues and Total Budgets of all movies by country. Again make sure to use the appropriate named range in your equation. Create two additional columns called “Ranking by Gross Revenue” and “Ranking by Total Budget” and use a function learned in class to rank the countries by each measure respectively. Does the countries in your top 5 change from the total revenue versus the budget total?
10pts

7a. Describe the issue that is present in number 7 and describe how you would go about solving it.
5pts

Note: Do not use pivot tables.

Q. How many movies was each actor in?
8. In a new worksheet called “Actors”, create an unduplicated listing of all actors (from columns actor_1_name, actor_2_name, actor_3_name) in 1 column. Sort the column from A-Z. Use a function learned in class to count the total number of movies each actor appears in (regardless of whether they are in column they are in).
10pts

8a.Create a new column called “Flag” and write an equation that “Flags” the actor if they appeared in more than 25 films. Filter the table by this “flag”. Create another function learned in class to count the number of actors who appeared in 30 movies or more.
10pts

Note: Do not use pivot tables.

Q. How many movies did each director make by year within the US?
9. Use the pivot table feature in Excel to help you answer this problem.

In a new worksheet called “Directors”, create your pivot and filter it by: Year >= 2010 and Country = USA. Include the director_name as your first column and additional column names for each of the years from 2010 – 2015. Next bring in the Primary Key field (that you created in Step 1) as your value to be counted for each director in each year respectively. Create a Total column and Total row to sum the data accordingly.
10pts

Note: Do not use equations.

10. Create your own analysis with the data. Clearly describe the problem/question that you’re trying to address, show your work, and explain the answer that you derived at. And make sure the analysis is complex. It should not be something as simple as “the total number of movies in the dataset” or even the “total number of movies by year”. Make sure your analysis is more interesting and complicated than that.  And make sure it’s not similar to one of the other problems in this project.
10pts

Project Selection and Planning

After last weeks presentation, the board of directors wants to continue consideration of a new webstore for Pine Valley Furniture. The board has asked you to assist them in selecting and initiating which project to do. They are considering a webstore for one of their three target markets:

o Corporate furniture

o Home office furniture

o Student furniture

The board wants you to help them determine which project to select and get started on the planning process.

Prepare a 10- to 16-slide presentation or write a 3- to 4-page executive summary to help the board choose.

Explain four methods for identifying and selecting IS projects. Compare the characteristics of each and identify the strengths and weaknesses of each method.

Identify valuation criteria when classifying and ranking the three projects, and then rank them.

Summarize the project initiation and planning process so the board knows the next steps.

“Electronic Ballots”

Statement: A voice interface can also be important as it is the voice that will be required for them to cast their vote.

Question 1:

How does a voice interface meet privacy requirements? Will voting booths need to be soundproof?

While you are pondering that, consider Florida. Remember the “hanging chad” or unproperly punched paper ballots in Florida several elections ago? According to: https://www.accessthevote.org/voting-in-florida/where-do-i-vote/florida-voting-machines/ ,

Florida uses voting machines from at least six different vendors and they consist of everything from DRE (direct recorded entry) using touchscreen, to optical scanners that read marked paper ballots. The question on voting is designed to provoke thought.

Question 2:

If the HCI designer tries to meet the objectives of universality in voting then should that really require another person as an assistant vote caster?

Consequences of Incorrect Information

People make mistakes; we are human, after all! However, workplace errors may have far-reaching consequences that affect the company, customers, or others. These errors may have simply been a missing comma in a legal document, a missing or misplaced semicolon in code, or a misspelling.

Do an online search for an example of a specific instance where a writing error caused problems. For easy access here in the discussion, look for Web sources instead of library articles or books.

For the initial post, provide the following:

  • In your first paragraph, provide a summary of the incident. Citation is not required.
  • In a second short paragraph, provide your reaction. This could be an explanation of what you think could have been done to avoid the problem in the first place, how you would have handled people in this situation if you were the manager or company owner, or how what rules you might put in place to prevent the problem from occurring again.
  • Provide the full URL of the source/webpage you found (use only one source).

Discussion parameters:

  • Write your initial post in your own words; do not quote or copy from sources.
  • Do not copy the questions into your post.
  • Write an original descriptive subject line for your initial post.
  • Write with formal, professional language.
  • Work to meet all posting guidelines and expectations.

Writing Assignment

Writing for the Client

Outcomes addressed in this activity:

Unit Outcomes:

Formulate ideas for a non-technological audience using cause-and-effect writing techniques.

Explain issues to a technical audience using compare-contrast writing methods.

Show ideas in a professional business format.

Discover the requirements of publishing in professional journals.

Interpret real-world consequences of incorrect information.

Apply time-management skills.

Course Outcome:

IT513-4: Synthesize solutions to clients’ technology problems using research, appropriate writing styles, and a suitable business format.

Purpose

This Assignment will focus on different audiences/readers and two subtypes of expository essays: compare/contrast and cause-and-effect. Each essay will synthesize ideas from two sources and be presented in a work-like format but using APA citation and referencing. Complete the Unit 6 Reading before beginning work.

Assignment Instructions and Requirements

Choose a different technology topic for each of your two essays; these must be different topics and sources than what you chose for the Unit 4 and 5 assignments. Your choices should be based on personal interest as well as appropriateness to meet the requirements of comparing and contrasting concepts for the first essay and the cause-and-effect message for the second. Topic ideas are explored in this unit’s Learning Activity. This assignment will be submitted as two separate reports:

Client Report: a cause-and-effect report for the lay reader (such as the non-technical client)

Tech Report: a compare/contrast report for the expert reader (such as a technology team)

Requirements for each:

Writing:

Each report must have a body of 350450 words in length.

You may include a maximum of one short quote (40 words or less) in each report. If you choose to quote, you must treat the quote correctly per APA standards as learned in Unit 2. You do not have to quote.

Your work must be presented in essay/paragraph form, without lists, tables, or images. (Images are allowed on the cover page, however.)

Your writing must follow the rules for formal writing style as explained in the Unit 1 reading.

Organization:

Cover page content must include your name, date, and an appropriate title to describe the content.

Your content for each essay must start on the second page.

Organize each essay with the basic introduction-body-conclusion format.

Write descriptive subheadings.

Use deductive paragraphing (main idea and then details). Do not include “transition” sentences.

Avoid first person and write formally. Remember that the concepts for the lay reader may need to be simplified and be careful with use of jargon and difficult terminology.

Sources:

Locate exactly two appropriate sources for each essay, with at least one of the two found through an online University library search.

Do not reuse any of the sources used for the Unit 4 or Unit 5 Assignments.

All sources need APA in-text citation in the body and a complete APA reference entry in a reference section at the end of the report.

Formatting:

Find or create a business-like template and follow formatting rules provided in the unit Reading.

Use the same template for both of your reports.

Color for headings is allowed, but make sure the colors are not so light as to cause readability issues.

Keep the body of your work as black text on white background for readability. Do not place text in text boxes (with the exception being the cover page).

Use “block” formatting by applying single spacing for paragraphs with a blank line between paragraphs. Do not indent the first line of paragraphs. You may use “justified” alignment only if readability does not suffer.

Avoid overly fancy fonts and ensure that text size is reasonable for easy reading.

Any imagery on the cover should be appropriate to the project or general in nature.

Headers and footers are allowed as you see fit.

Directions for Submitting Your Assignment

Name your Word documents with the following convention: IT513-Unit6-ClientReport-LastName-FirstName and IT513-Unit6-TechReport-LastName-FirstName (using your own name).

Make sure you read all instructions carefully and review the rubric before submitting both reports to the Dropbox for Unit 6.

Reminders

Proofread your work for grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and formality.

Ensure that your work is not copied from sources. Copying does not prove an understanding of the material, and plagiarism will not be tolerated. In accordance with the University’s Academic Integrity policy, your assignment will be automatically submitted to TurnItIn.

Need min of 600 words and please find the diag attached in file

Briefly respond to all the following questions. Make sure to explain and backup your responses with facts and examples. This assignment should be in APA format and have to include at least two references.

Initially summarize the questions attempted

Q1: ISLR Textbook chapter review questions

Review the following sections in Python

Q2 Textbook Theory Questions 3.7 Exercises

1. Describe the null hypotheses to which the p-values given in Table 3.4 correspond. Explain what conclusions you can draw based on these p-values. Your explanation should be phrased in terms of sales, TV, radio, and newspaper, rather than in terms of the coefficients of the linear model.

Q3 Applied Textbook Questions with Python 3.7 Exercises

Hint several github sites have the complete solution in python e.g.

8. This question involves the use of simple linear regression on the Auto data set. (a) Perform a simple linear regression with mpg as the response and horsepower as the predictor. Print the results. Comment on the output. For example:

i. Is there a relationship between the predictor and the response?

ii. How strong is the relationship between the predictor and the response?

iii. Is the relationship between the predictor and the response positive or negative?

iv. Predictions

  1. What is the predicted mpg associated with a horsepower of 98? What are the associated 95 % confidence and prediction intervals?
  2. Plot the response and the predictor, display the least squares regression line.
  3. Produce diagnostic plots of the least squares regression fit. Comment on any problems you see with the fit.

9. This question involves the use of multiple linear regression on the Auto data set.

(a) Produce a scatterplot matrix which includes all of the variables in the data set.

(b) Compute the matrix of correlations between the variables.

(c) Perform a multiple linear regression with mpg as the response and all other variables except name as the predictors and print the results. Comment on the output. For instance:

i. Is there a relationship between the predictors and the response?

ii. Which predictors appear to have a statistically significant relationship to the response?

iii. What does the coefficient for the year variable suggest?

(d) Produce diagnostic plots of the linear regression fit. Comment on any problems you see with the fit. Do the residual plots suggest any unusually large outliers? Does the leverage plot identify any observations with unusually high leverage?

(e) Fit linear regression models with interaction effects. Do any interactions appear to be statistically significant?

(f) Try a few different transformations of the variables, such as log(X), X, X2. Comment on your findings.

Opional

15. This problem involves the Boston data set, which we saw in the lab for this chapter. We will now try to predict per capita crime rate using the other variables in this data set. In other words, per capita crime rate is the response, and the other variables are the predictors.

(a) For each predictor, fit a simple linear regression model to predict the response. Describe your results. In which of the models is there a statistically significant association between the predictor and the response? Create some plots to back up your assertions.

(b) Fit a multiple regression model to predict the response using all of the predictors. Describe your results. For which predictors can we reject the null hypothesis H0 : j = 0?

(c) How do your results from (a) compare to your results from (b)? Create a plot displaying the univariate regression coefficients from (a) on the x-axis, and the multiple regression coefficients from (b) on the y-axis. That is, each predictor is displayed as a single point in the plot. Its coefficient in a simple linear regression model is shown on the x-axis, and its coefficient estimate in the multiple linear regression model is shown on the y-axis.

(d) Is there evidence of non-linear association between any of the predictors and the response? To answer this question, for each predictor X, fit a model of the form Y = 0 + 1X + 2X2 + 3X3 + .
