Q2:In order to have a successful IG program, one of the eight (8) Information Risk Planning and Management step is to develop metrics and measure results. Why are metrics required?  Briefly provide your explanation.

Week 10

Question 1:

For this week discussion – read chapter 16 in the course text.  After reading chapter 16, In your own words, discuss at least three 3 steps for facilitating effective collaboration.

Question 2:

Read the Consumerization of Technology at IFG Case Study on pages 239-242 in the textbook. Answer the Discussion Questions at the end of the Case Study.

1. Describe the problem at IFG as succinctly as you can. Use this description to identify

the main stakeholders.

2. IFG cant afford the resources to identify, define, cleanse, and validate all of its data.

On the other hand, building yet another data mart to address a specific problem

worsens the data situation. Propose a solution that will enable IFG to leverage a key

business problem/opportunity using their BI tools that does not aggravate their

existing data predicament.

Discussion

As outlined within this weeks Topic, there are several benefits as well as challenges associated with the use of Big Data Analytics in the e-Healthcare industry. Identify the challenges associated with each of the Catagories below:

  • Data Gathering
  • Storage and Integration
  • Data Analysis
  • Knowledge Discovery and Information Interpretation

Social Technology

Scenario: Magenta Multimedia has decided to incorporate social technology into its business to maintain its competitive advantage. It would like to use technologies that allow it to engage with customers, and that also allow employees to communicate with peers. The companys current customer demographic is older, but management would like to expand the appeal of the company and its products to millennials (while not ignoring its current customer base). The company was impacted by the recent economic downturn, but is now growing again and is seeing positive financial results. Despite this, senior management is extremely budget-conscious and sensitive to incurring new expenses.

  • What social technology strategy would you recommend?
  • Why would you recommend this strategy?
  • How would this strategy benefit the organization?
  • What type of social media metrics would you recommend the organization use to ensure the social technology strategy is successful?
  • Given budget considerations, how would you justify the costs of your recommended strategy?

Risk Index Worksheet For Comparing And Prioritizing Risks

 

We have almost completed the process of developing our HVA. Once an Emergency Manager had completed the HVA and it has been approved by the community partners and organizations you would publish it for those involved in Emergency Management. To get there you need to ensure that you have a priority assigned to each of the hazards. You need this to also assist you in your mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities. For this assignment, I want you to complete the Risk Index Worksheet for Comparing and Prioritizing Risks for each type of hazard; natural, technological, and manmade.

Instructions

  1. Download the EDMG101 HVA Risk Index.xlsx.  This contains a cover sheet and 3 blank tabs to fill–Natural, Technological, and Human.
  2. Fill out your name and date on the cover tab.
  3. Copy the hazards you identified in all 3 tabs from the HVA Vulnerability workbook.  Use the drop-down values in each of the column categories.  Type in any special characteristics & planning conditions.  Determine and set the risk priority.
  4. Add your first initial and last name to the filename. ie: AJones HVA Risk Index.xlsx
  5. Submit here in the classroom.
