This assignment has two parts. While working on your next career move, you will create a 3-minute video and a supporting Briefing to pitch your big idea to your future CEO. This can be an idea on how to initiate change, improve or stop doing something in any of the areas covered in the Marketing & Society course. You will select an organisation (for-profit or not-for-profit) or country (in which case you are pitching to the Prime Minister or Head of Government!). You will then focus your BIG IDEA on a marketing strategy, program or campaign this organisation is currently running (because you see a need for change), or propose something it is not currently doing, or make a case for stopping something that is ongoing. You are required to justify your proposal. The video needs to be engaging, with visuals, music and voice over. It does not have to be a professional video but it needs to serve the purpose of conveying your big idea and get you hired or moved to the next level!
The written part of this assignment (supporting Briefing) is a Word document of maximum 1500 words outlining what you are suggesting, why you are making this suggestion and how it will benefit the target organisation. In summary, the Briefing should reinforce your proposal (not just be a summary of your proposal). It needs to be concise, well organised and written in a format appropriate to a CEO (or Prime Minister/Head of Government) level. Imagine that the Briefing might circulate among the C-level team or among ministers: the briefing needs to be crystal clear, so that people without access to the video could still understand your pitch, be captivated and recommend to go for it!
